Okay, so I've had the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 for a while now, and honestly? It's become the camera I reach for more than anything else. It's small, the stabilization is insane, and I can just... grab it and go. No setup, no fuss.
But after a few months of daily use and a couple of trips, I've picked up a few accessories that I genuinely can't imagine shooting without now. Nothing fancy — just stuff that actually makes a difference.
A Good Case (Seriously, Get One First)
I made the mistake of just tossing the Pocket 3 into my bag for the first few weeks. The gimbal is way more exposed than it looks. One good bump and you're in trouble. I got a proper carrying case and it immediately took away that low-key anxiety every time I packed my bag. Look for something with a hard shell if you travel a lot.
Gimbal Cover
Goes hand in hand with the case. I snap this on every single time the camera isn't in my hand. Takes two seconds and protects the most vulnerable part of the camera. Wish I'd gotten one from day one.
Wide-Angle Lens
This one surprised me. I wasn't sure I'd use it much, but now it's almost always on when I'm shooting indoors or in tight spaces. It extends the field of view noticeably and makes everything feel a bit more cinematic. Attaches magnetically so it's super easy to pop on and off.
Lens Hood
If you shoot outside a lot, get a lens hood. Glare was driving me crazy before I got one. Now I barely think about it. Small thing, big difference.
An Expansion Bracket
The Pocket 3 on its own is great for handheld, but the moment you want to put it on a tripod or attach something to it, you need a bracket. I use an L-shaped metal one that works with basically any standard mount. Solid, no wobble, does the job.
Lanyard
Last one, and I know it sounds boring — but I dropped my camera once (caught it, thankfully) and immediately ordered a lanyard. Now I wear it around my wrist when I'm shooting in busy places. It's one of those things you don't think about until you almost need it.
That's pretty much it. None of this is groundbreaking, but these six things have made my Pocket 3 setup feel complete. Start with the case and gimbal cover, then add the rest as you go.
